"How To" Tutorial

This is a tutorial to walk you through the ways to pass the time while stuck in a cast on hot summer days:

1. Help your mother with her school projects.

2. Watch ALL of the Olympics (if you're fortunate enough to be in cast during such a time).

3. Play some iPhone games (such as Words with Friends and FLOW).

4. Make an AWESOMELY cute seat crate to rest your cast on when you have to go back to work.

5. Fix up your scooter: Add stuffing so that your knee can stop killing you as you roll around, and add some fabric to the top so you don't keep sweating all over the place in the hot summer weather.

6. Read A LOT on your awesome Kindle Fire!

7. Watch some (or all of) Downton Abbey for free (if you have Amazon Prime)! Love!

8. Build up your endurance by doing laps around Target (simply because it's far too hot to do such rehab outdoors).

9. Doodle on your cast--it'll bring you much joy.

10. Entertain visitors!

(A picture of your visitors goes here!)

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any additional steps you'd like to suggest, please comment below!

Olympic FEVAH!

The Olympics start TOMORROW!

Do you realize what that means??? Amazing athletic goodness for over TWO WEEKS!

I am SO EXCITED for...

the screaming
the tears
the stories
the victories
the National Anthem
the medals
the suspense
the rivalries
the underdogs
the memories.

ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!! Get the picture???

It seems like only yesterday that I wrote THIS POST that began the 100 days countdown. Now it's HERE!

How excited am I? I'm more excited than Jessie Spano on pills! (If you don't get that reference, you should have watched more Saved by the Bell).

I just guest-posted on Nicole's blog about what I Quite Like and Rather Dislike about the Olympics. Go read that post HERE! It's worth your time if I do say so myself. :)

As the Olympics quickly approach, what are YOU looking forward to?? Comment below and let me know.

What am I MOST excited about????

Our girls' gymnastics team!

Bring home the GOLD, girls!

Quite Like, Rather Dislike, Round 3

Here comes the third installment of the Quite Like, Rather Dislike series. To read Round 1 click here, to read Round 2 click here, AND for Round 3, READ ON!

Quite Like:

My new bedding! I fell in love with it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I pretty much had to have it. Do you love it??!!?

The Olympics are in 26 days!! I seriously. can't. wait. Who wants to come over for an Opening Ceremonies party? Let's make it happen.

Washington D.C. is happening tomorrow! Well, I guess I can't really say that I like it yet, but I'm quite certain that I will. :)

New York City! I'm positive that I will confirm my quite-likeness of this awesome place shortly. So excited!

Rather Dislike:

Foot surgery. Who out there remembers this horrible event?

It was two years ago, yet it seems like it was just yesterday... And why do I bring it up now?

Beeecause it's going to happen again SO SOON. As in, AUGUST 2nd SOON! Dumb other foot...

I'm pretty sure Rather Dislike doesn't even begin to describe this experience. I'm slightly freaked out. Aaand I'm sure the students will really enjoy me starting the year on the scooter.

The only saving grace? I'll really be able to (more like have to) really sit on the couch and watch the Olympics--ALL OF THEM.

Who wants to come visit me and put me out of my misery? :)

100 More Days...

...until the 2012 Olympics in London. Eeeeeeeeek! I can hardly contain my excitement...

Let me tell you what....I've got the Olympics in me

I caught Olympic fever as a child and it. is. raging.

I'm hard pressed to find anyone as Olympic obsessed as I am. I'm quite pleased that my friend Ashley feels the same way. We may or may not have already started planning viewing parties, medal tally charts, Olympic cakes, clothing, and the like.

I'm not sure how I caught this fever, but I don't ever want it to go away! Of course gymnastics is my favorite sport (and my mind is reeling with which five girls will be chosen for the team--did you read that? FIVE...only five!...I'll be on edge until the team is announced), but I'll watch it all. I'll love it all.

I'll laugh.

I'll cry.

I'll scream.

I'll cheer.

I may even throw things...

...if it comes down to that.

I love the emotion, the determination, the drive, the hope, the success, the stories, the dreams. I love it all (have I made myself clear yet?). :)

For your viewing pleasure (and to perhaps pass on a bit of the fever), here is a montage of the gymnasts from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Enjoy!

How excited am I, you ask?
